Question How do you tighten/tension guy wires?

Hi.

I need to secure my antenna mast and I plan to use guy wires from the antenna to the roof.

After I secure one end to the antenna how do I get tension on the wire before I secure it to the roof?

Is a turnbuckle useful?

Thanks.

For sure use a turn buckle on each wire you run down to the roof. Put the turn buckle on the roof eye. let the cable long. Now pull it tight by hand in the turnbuckle end and tie or clamp it off. Do this to all the wires . Then start to tighten the turn buckles.

Thanks for the quick reply.

My concern with tightening the turnbuckle is that it will twist the guy wire...or am I doing something wrong here?

You just put a screw driver, or a rod. in the eye are hold it with a wrench. The eye the wire is tied to. AS you turn the center of the turn buckle
