Track for a False Wall
I'm curious to know if anyone makes a track system that I can build a false wall and then roll it on a track.
Thanks,
Joe

You could possibly use pocket door track and trollies. JUst make sure you use the 4 wheel trollies for support of the wall. Depending on the weight, you may have to install rollers on the bottom. Not sure what your final product will be. They are quite large and ugly, but barn door sliding tracks are substantial.

For one exterior solution, do a search on "NanaWall". They make exterior folding doors, kind of like sliding glass doors on steroids.
If you are looking for an interior solution - Traditional Japanese houses have lightweight panels that slide in wooden tracks (in the floor recessed 1/4" or less and at the top of the panel, an inch or so deep). Generally a wall is divided into 3 or 4 panels, riding in two tracks. The panels can be rearranged so there is an opening in any of the locations, or it can be completely closed. They use paper or fabric in the panels, for privacy and light weight. You could also use something like 3/16" hardwood plywood (most big box have birch and oak in this thickness) in place of the paper/fabric. Since the panels are light, they could also be removed if more opening is desired.
