file cabinet drawer/slides

While moving a 4 drawer file cabinet w/o the drawers, 2 of the slides fell off. No mater how I try to slide them back on, they do not move as freely as they once did or like the others. Is there something I'm missing? I'm sure it is simple, but I can't figure it out.

Drawer slides

Some slides have ball bearings. Look at the other slides in the cabinet to get some ideas.

Try rubbing both parts of each drawer slide with waxed paper. I would also suggest securing the slides with additional screws. The existing screw holes may not be holding the slide as securely as before and any deviation results in exactly what you described.

If some of the ball bearings fell out or if the slide became slightly bent when it fell, you should probably replace the slides because they'll never roll true again.
