Female Connectors
I'm looking for the proper name (and potential internet site where I can by) for a particular kind of...well, connector.
Basically I have two small machine screws that I need a long, female threaded connector to connect them. Basically the opposite gender of a connecting bolt.
Does anyone know what those are called? Or where I can get them?

Is this what your hunting for ? http://www.accuratemfg.com/ Since they are a manufacturer, I'm not sure if you can buy from them. I have found them at the big box stores.
I've always known them to be called "sex bolts".

I believe what you are looking for is known as a "coupling nut".Depending on the exact size you need they are fairly easy to find.Any real hardware store will carry the more common sizes.Otherwise I'd google "coupling nut".

Thanks guys. Perfect. I've got a name now. Still having a bit of trouble finding one long enough...I need about 1.5 inches - but I might be able to make a longer one.
Thanks again!

not sure why you would need one so long. Can you use longer screws?
other option (in my head) take 2 and use a piece of threaded rod to connect them (as long as the threaded rod does not cause a blockage problem)

You might try hunting around for a threaded standoff. Check a place that sells electronic supplies. You can also try connecting two short ones with a threaded stud or a fully threaded screw with the head cut off.
