I am looking for a spring cannot find in Lowes. This spring helps the 8 gallong trash can lid to swing open.
its a tension spring, I can email the picture of the spring if someone is willing to help me out.
if anyone can tell me where can I find this spring ?
thanks,
kivi26.

I moved your thread here in Hardware and Fasteners as it may fit better here.
Just a thought, but perhaps you can make it yourself out of galvanized steel wire. Not sure if that's what it's originally made of though.
Anyway, I'm sure others will chime in here.

Jannhull, welcome to the forums. Hopefully in the past 3 years they either got the springs or replaced the cans. Looking forward to your continued help on the forums.

I've had luck with large, stiff safety pins as a replacement for the springs (snip the end to remove the sharp point. But now my replacement safety pins, which worked well for a few years, have worn out and the new ones I found are not stiff enough, so they deform and don't spring back. Does anyone know where to get some stiff ones?
