plumbing supports.

i want to know for indoor plumbing supports in a basement the type of metal rods, nuts and washers i should use? there are galvanized, zinc, or electro galvanized plus hot dipped galvanized. i will be using holdright galvanized ceiling pipe supports that will be hung from a ceiling flange and 3/8'' rod. what type of metal and coating would you recommend for the threaded rod, ceiling flange and nuts and washers? will zinc plated interfere with the galvanized bracket?

pipe brackets:

Ceiling Pipe Brackets - Overhead Pipe Brackets - Suspended Pipe Brackets - PexSupply.com

If you check the definition of galvanize, you will find that it refers to steel coated with zinc. All the items you mention are zinc coated, so all should be compatible.

i will be supporting copper pipes and the brackets will be the type where the hot water will run above the cold water pipes since heat rises. here is the bracket:

Oh, I see. There are plastic inserts between the copper pipe and the bracket. Ok. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't an issue there.
