Need help defining a bolt name

Hi all,

I'm in need of a bolt that is both:
- set screw
- female bolt

Here's a photo of the bolt:

What is the correct name of this type of bolt?

It is called a female binder post half. Finding it may be the trick. What application does it go to? That may help us give better information. Oh, welcome to the forums.

Hi Chandler, thanks.
It's for some custom gadget that I'm building.

I'm trying to shop for this bolt online (it's actually a nut),
and "female binder post half" is not giving me any results...

Are there other name by which it may be described?

It is also called a Chicago screw. Try this Shop Standard (SAE) Binding Post Screws at Lowes.com!

To me it looks like part of an electronic circuit board stand-off.

I found what I needed, it's actually called a round nut.

Thanks for the help!
