pulley for a murphy bed
#1

Hello!
I am so glad that I found this forum, I hope someone can help me with this idea I have that is gonna be kinda hard to explain.
You see I have a murphy bed in my small studio apartment. As u can imagine it is a must to fold it back into the wall every morning if I want any space at all. The problem is that it is very heavy and akward and it is a chore to push it up into its closet everyday. Does anyone have any ideas on a pulley and rope type system that I could install that would make it easier for me to do alone?
any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Diabla,
If your fairly handy, you can construct a pulley/counterweight system to aid you. May have to do trial and error a few times to get weight right. Used a similar system on my a trap door to an upstairs playroom for my kids. It worked great.May want to add a light spring between rope and counterweight to make it smoother.
Hope this helps.Good luck !
