100 year old redwood sistered to Douglas fir: fasteners??

Want to sister a 2x4 redwood stud that is 100 years old to new Douglas fir 2x6. Can I go with some coated screws (Grk brand rss structural) or must I use their stainless steel. Given the situation, crawlspace between ceiling and roof and not wanting to hammer I prefer to use screws. Tannin bleed is not an issue as I don't care about cosmetics. But I keep hearing acids in redwood will damage the coating of the screw and the screw itself? Even 100 year old redwood?
