How can I mount my TV stand to wall without stud available?

I have a 75in television I would like to mount above my fireplace, however, I only have one available stud (bottom of the template). Anything for the upper part of the template (as seen on the picture), I don't have anything available. Is there anything I can do? Or any help would be appreciated.

Of note ... the bottom part of the template has the stud that goes horizontal. Nothing is available on top to mount for extra security

It would be a rare, very rare, situation that a wall would only have one horizontal stud.

I would suggest more investigation to confirm, carpenters just don't build walls without sufficient studs!

Is there another horizontal stud 12 or 16 inches above the one you found?

There must be more vertical studs on this wall. From one edge measure 16" and subtract about 1/2". Probe for a stud in that area. When found measure another 16", and so on.

As much as I dislike mounting a TV on the wall, if you can't hit a stud where the mounting holes line up, you can take a 1 x 4 or any similar size and span the whole wall with it, making sure it is securely attached to studs. Use two if necessary. Then mount the bracket to it. You can paint or stain the wood strips to look good.
