wood stud integrity

Not sure where to post this question.

I am installing a TV mount (50 lbs) and I have to move it up the wall 1.25" inches.

So the new holes (7/32") are 1.25" from the old holes. Is this ok or will it affect the integrity of the stud?

As long as you are some multiplier of the hole dia away you are fine, honestly I dont know what the exact value is for a stud, but an educated guess of 1.25" probably exceeds the min requirement!

Drill away!!!
