How to get this out?

It's caught in there as if by a fishing hook.

Wow.....

just use a good pair of sidecutting pliers. Very hard to hold the bolt from spinning while cutting.

Cut the bolt head off with a hack saw or cut off wheel and push the remainder into the wall cavity.

It's a toggle bolt.
Keep pressure on the bolt as you turn it out so that the wings hit the back of the sheetrock.

PJmax ah, that's what I was suspecting. And that's what I tried as I got the other one out that way but this one isn't grabbing too well. So this is the only way uh? If so and it doesn't work then I'll just saw it off.

You would grab the bracket to hold the wings tight.
A driver makes removal easier.

Sometimes the bolt gets bent in which case just cut the screw.

PJmax "grab the bracket" would require breaking through the wall, unless you had something else in mind.

juntjoo - What is meant by "grab the bracket" simply means to take hold of the bracket and pull the bracket back away from the wall in order to make the wings on the toggle open widely so the toggle's bolt can be unscrewed.

Kooter when you said "take hold of the bracket" I'm still thinking break through the wall.

The you said "pull the bracket back away from the wall"....if I pull the bracket behind the wall gets pulled INTO the wall.

I'm gonna saw it off

The bracket that posters are mentioning is the support bracket for the shelf. You can use it to provide pressure to the underside of the screw head which will pull the toggle against the drywall.

Yes, that should work nicely for you...

Just be sure to 'grab the toggle bolt' and pull back on it away from the wall so it doesn't wobble all around as you're sawing on it. You need a pair of sidecut pliers!
