screws for siding replacement

We have to replace 5 0or 6 sheets of exterior masonite siding due to water damage. We don't want to rent an air compressor and nail gun for such a small job. Can we use something along the line of deck screws to install the siding. I prefer screws to nails, if possible.

For exterior masonite, cement board screws work very well. The screws have nibs on the bottom of the head to counter sink into the masonite slightly and the coating is tested for 2000 hours in salt spray test. They have a coarse thread for a good connection into your wood base material. You can pick them up at a Home Depot or other home improvement store.
