Post Cement

I am replacing the posts on my front porch. This house is about 26 years old and I have to use L brackets to fasten the posts to the cement and the roof. I don't have a hammer drill and the cement is too old(too tought) to drive nails into. How do I attach these L brackets to the cement?

Try a masonry bit in a standard drill. Takes a little longer, but you should be able to get your holes drilled. I've drilled lots of masonry holes over the years and have never owned a hammer drill. If you are making a fairly large hole, drill a starter hole with a smaller bit first. Alternative would be to rent a hammer drill for a few dollars.
