Question Bolts

What type of bolts would I use to bolt something directly to a wooden structure. I do not want to screw in the bolt. The bolts must be a "machine" type bolt. Can a bushing (right term?) be sunk into the wood so the bolt can be removed when necessary?

A sradard hex head bolt can be removed without the necessity of a bushing. The size and grade will be determined by the load factor on the shaft of the bolt.

For extra security, look for a grade 8 bolt. Much stronger than standard (grade 2) and not that much more expensive in small quantities.
