Are there any urgent care centers near you? That would be your best option till you can see a doctor.

Might I suggest that you do a search for "rheumatoid arthritis pain relief" on the internet, you may find something that can help until your Dr. appt.

I'm certainly not one to be prescribing medications, but do some searching on ibuprofen in regards to arthritis. My story is long and not entirely relevant so I'll let you search.

My wife likes ibuprofen. I've tried both it and the arthritis version [and regular] of tylenol and neither help me much. I think a lot depends on the individual. Are you sure you have rheumatoid and not osteoarthritis?

Tylenol works differently than NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, ...). Generally one or the other category will work better for you.

They are certainly not helping if you truly have RA, as the main issue is damage to the cartilage in the joints and no pain killer will affect that.
