Frosted up inside the house

Frosted up inside the house
I have had nothing but trouble from my heat pump. A couple of weeks ago it seem the overflow was clogged and it backed up and flooded through the walls. Someone said to clean it out but I could get to the drain pan, so I just forced air through that overflow tube. I wake up today and the coil (thing that looks like a radiator inside) is all iced up and not letting air through. Would it be a stopped up overflow again. What causes this and what can I do.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can have 2 things here with frost on the coil. low freon
are is the air filter, coil and blower clean. If you used a shop vac on the drain line did you blow and suck on it?
If its low on freon dont run it just run fan on.

Wow, thanks, didn't expect a reply on Memorial day.
Filter is clean. The coil appears decently clean. When I tried the clean the overflow, I couldn't get to it so I just stuck a compressor hose in the end fo the tube by the drain and blew air through it.
Don't know much about this, so am not sure of the fan? Can't directly see it when I remove the panel. It is an american standard and it is only 5 years old.
It was very rainy yesterday. Almost all day between rain and humid and cool and rain.
would that have anything to do with it or is it probably the low on freon thing.
Thanks in advance

When you bend the fins on the coil the air cant get through there . There is a fin comb you can buy to fix them. If its all clean then turn it off go just fan on you should be low on freon. Need a hvac tech to look at it and put gauges on it. To see low freon or some thing else.
