painting baseboard heater
I have several electric baseboard heaters that are showing some rust and would like to paint them. Due to the fact that they put out heat, do I need a heat resistent paint? What paint would you suggest?
Thank you!
Thank you!

We paint our boilers with a good oil based enamel and it does fine.
Or is it water based enamel? Anyway it's nothing special not heat resistant. I'm pretty sure it's oil based cause you can't wash the paint off your hands or brush with water.

how hot do electric heaters get?
Thank you for the reply. I had hoped to use enamel paint, but a guy at Home Depot told me I'd have to use heat resistant paint. I don't really believe him, or at least don't want to use a spray paint for the job, since it's indoors. The only thing I'm not clear on is the heat issue. For boilers, I assume the heat won't exceed 212F, but will electric heaters get any hotter. Just flat don't know without trying and it's too hot and expensive to turn them on to test them out. Hopefully someone has the answer to my problem. I apologize for my ignorance.

Hey Elf,
If you don't mind telling - how much is the electric bill when using baseboard electric heating?
I am considering renting this new apt - 3 bedrooms duplex - and it uses baseboard electric heating and probably an electric water heater as well. So I am trying to get an estimate of how high the bill would go in the winter time.
I would appreciate some info.
