ruud and new digital thermostat

i'm attempting to install a new digital thermostat to a ruud uhbc series. I'm having confusion with the wiring and this 'stage 2 heat'. the wires are as listed below for the current thermostat (has emergency heat feature):
Green to G
Red to R
Orange to B
Yellow to Y
White to W2
W2 to E

just to confirm so i understand what i have read on these forums.
this ruud has stage 2 some sort of emergency heat backup?
a new digital thermostat would have to support stage 2 like the Thermostat Model # CT3611R from honeywell

i appreciate all input! Thanks in advance

As long as it's a heat pump thermostat it should have all the connections you need.

ruud uses B for the reversing valve if this is a heat pump most all others use O

your rev valve is not energized in cool

Thumbs down

My books show that on the CT3611 you keep the jumper from Y to W1 on. Also on heatpumps we find that a set back tstat dont help much .Cause when it turns up the heat it kicks on the strip heaters and this takes more electric power than the heatpump.
