Installing Honeywell 8611G replacement

I want to replace my old therm with the 8611. I've figured out which wires go where but the instructions also say I need to set dip switches for the new therm. Where are the dip switches??? They're not on therm itself and I don't see any on the old unit. Are they on the heat pump?

My heat pump is a Goodman - Model PHJ024-1.

there are dip switches or jumpers on the circuit board outside (sets defrost timing depending on climate)

they will also be on the circuit board at the ahu to set fan on and off delay

what do they say to set them on?

My basement is wired for a heating so I'm in the process of installing. I've run into some problems. First the wire setup as it is: Set of 2 BLACK/WHITE/GROUND one end at floor (for baseboard) other end where Thermostat would be. 1 set of BLACK/WHITE/GROUND (assuming its the power supply) one end at thermostat other end next to junction box (not connected). Looking at the heating around the house, I purchased standard 5' and 4' baseboards (240v). And Honeywell programmable thermostat for Electric baseboard 240v (4 wires, 2 black, 2 red). Question: How should I connect wire for the power supply to the junction box (theres a RED/WHITE/BLACK wires coming ... I assume thats 240v)? Do the two black wires on the thermostat marked (L1/L2) get connected to the power supply (WHITE-L1, BLACK-L2)? And T1/T2 get connected to the wires going to the baseboard heaters? Does it matter how connect 'em? I made a failed attempt already ... the thermostat turned 'on' and I increased the heat 80 (hold) but there was no reaction. Either I have the wiring wrong, or my 240v connection is wrong, or I should be using 120v baseboards instead (and a different thermostat) or.... Can someone help me out? Thanks, SamRead More

Electric Furnace Costs

I was wondering if anyone knew how expensive it is to heat a house with an electric furnace. My wife and I put an offer on a house that has one and we are clueless as to the cost of electric vs. oil or gas. It is about a 2300 sq foot ranch house with new windows and a brand new magic air electric furnace. It looks like forced air. I was in the crawl space under the house and there are ducts running from the furnace to the different rooms in the house. It is central NJ so it gets pretty cold Dec. through Feb./March.
