Need Advice In Choosing A Thermostat.

Hello,

Just bought our first house...we have baseboard heat throughout the house with one thermostat on each floor (all manual thermostats).

We are looking to upgrade to programmable digital thermostats and I want to know if there is anything special I should be looking for in choosing the right unit (not so much features, we know what we're looking for in that department, but in actual type of unit...line vs. low etc.).

Thanks in advance for the advice and any recommended brands/units.

Mike

P.S. - If there is any info needed that I left out, just let me know and I will check it out.

If this is baseboard elctric heat you need to check the existing stats and see if they are line voltage or low "24" volts.

Question Help!

Any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Is there a test I can perform? Can some type of voltage meter be used? Is there anywhere I can look on the unit to determine the voltage (special notation, unique physical features, etc.)?

If you just take the cover off the existing stat it should say if its 120, 220, 24 whatever.
