Conventional vs ductless heat pump reliability

Could you answer a question on the reliability of the ductless heat pump vs the conventional split system heat pump. Many of the dealers I am asking do not install the ductless systems and say I am taking a risk if I purchase one. What is the average life expectancy of the ductless system and what for the conventional system?
I have a converted garage 22x22 with 9 foot ceiling and don't really want to install a conventional split system but I am very nervous about reliability.
Thanks for your help.

Wink

If the guy that is selling it to you has been around there for a long time go for it. They do work and for where you want one and size id say go for it. Would you do any better with a wall unit here ,goes into the wall like a window unit would a window. They get up in size and are heat pumps also.
