Unhappy RUUD Achiever 10 New thermostat

I am putting in a Hunter 44760 to replace the original Ruud t-stat. I have connected:
R-R
Y1-Y1
W2-W2
G-G
X-C
This leaves B and O. B&O are peculiar with this unit (Ruud) but neither wiring diagram I have found outside and inside indicate which is which.
There is no E wire.
I've tried B-B and O-O. Fan and compressor come on when appropriate. Ive also tried B-O and O-E. Functions the same. The unit has never heated well, so there may be other issues.
Its a Ruud Achiever 10 about 13 y/o.
Any suggestions?

I tried to reply to this thread a couple of times but I was having puter problems.

Your "O" wire will hook to either "O" or "B" depending on whether your reversing valve is energized or de-energized during heating mode. For some reason I'm thinking on Ruud the valve is energized during heating. So hook it to "B" and put it in heating mode and go feel the large copper line outside. It should be hot to the touch if the heat pump is in heating mode.

"E" is for emergency heat. You can jumper W2 to E to achieve emergency heat if you don't have a E wire.
