Quick Heat Pump question.

Hello all. With a heat pump, do you just set it at one particular temperature and just leave it there all the time (adjusting of course for seasonal changes)? From what I have seen, the HP doesn't seem to raise a room temperature too quickly.

Based on the above, when using a HP, it probably doesn't make too much sense to invest in a programmable thermostat...?

OK, that was 2 questions!

Thanks all.

In my opinion it's best to leave a h/p at one setpoint. Using a programmable will cause the auxillary heat to kick in when the program tells it to bump up the temprature, costing you any money you may have saved setting it back.
