Hp Vs. Heat Strips

Which Is More Efficent? A Hp That Maintains The Set Point Temp But Runs Constantly To Do It Or Electric Strips That Run To Set Point And Shut Off Then Come On Again When The Temp Goes Below Set Point?

Wink

Id say its the best with a heat pump. Think this way .A heat pump has a COP of about 30. Now what that means is you will get 3 times more heat for your dollar as you will get for the same dollar with heat strips.

While building my house, about 1500 sq ft heated, I rented a very small (probably about 1000 sq ft) 2 bedroom house with one bath, all-electric. It only had strip heating. My electric bill one month was over $250. In comparison, my all-electric house with heat pump usually runs about half the cost of the strip heating. I wouldn't want to have anything other than a heat pump.
