what company for ground source geothermal system..?
Hello all,
I'm getting ready to build a home and will be going with a geothermal system. Mostly cuz all thats available at the build site is propane, and thats out of the question. I was just wondering if anyone would know where to start for information or has any experience with certain brands. Also, how hard would it be to install it myself? I would pay someone to bury the piping and do the actual piping hook-up, but I could handle purchasing the unit and doing all the electrical and duct work. I know I need to have a heating/cooling load gain/loss done on the home too. Anybody know a reputable source for this?
Thanks,
Ron

Id check out American GeothermalDX. This is whats call a Direct Exchange Geothermal You dont mess with water coils or water pumps at all. Its like the high side coil of the unit itself is in the ground. http://www.amgeo.com
If you go there they will talk about heat pumps for cement plants but they also make them for the homes.

I service Climate Master Geo units on a daily basis...they seem to be ok. I would recommend going with a "closed loop" system over the "standing column well" set up if you have enough land for the loops. You may loose a zone valve or have a few pump issues once in a while but they can usually be easily fixed.

If you service them on a DAILY basis, are you sure they're ok??

Geo DX is where the freon lines are in the ground. There is no water pipes are wells no water pumps. Just a AC set up with freon pipes in the ground for heat transfer. Did you go to that www I gave above or give them a call. they would sent lit on it to you.
