New stat for a York Heat Pump
I am trying to replace a old Honeywell T874G thermostat on a older York B1Sp042A06 Heat Pump unit. The low voltage wires on the old stat ate G,W,X,B,O,and Y
I am try to hook up a programmable Climatemaster stat (ATP32U03)
The connections on the new one are, C, R, W1, O, Y1, Y2, AND G
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You may have an outdoor t-stat which keeps part of the aux heat kit off above a certain outdoor temp.
On your system, X may activate a relay to bring on the entire set of heat strips in emergency heat mode.
You can tape X off for now, but emergency heat may not operate at full capacity.

Every ODT that I have seen wires to the indoor unit. Disconnecting E at the stat shouldn't affect this.

Connect the old R to the new R.
Connect the old O to the new O.
The question is X. If you have 20 KW with 10 KW controlled by W and 10 KW controlled by X you will see a large jump in your light bill by connecting both W and X to the new W.
I would only connect the old W to the new W.
If you find that you are still cold, you can always add the old X to the new W later.

I agree that it shouldn't affect normal heatpump operation.
