Old Coleman furnace only cranks up when thero is set in ON position...
Ok, Here it is.. I have an old Coleman electric furnace in my house. Last week I noticed cold air blowing out, so i killed the breaker and pulled the disconnect and opened the panel and noticed that the sequencer had burned up. I ordered same 3 pole sequencer online and installed it today. Now I notice that the heat will only kick on when the thermostat is in the ON position. One thing I noticed with the old sequencer, is that there were little metal rods connecting the two sequencer units together on the top and bottom like running them in parallel. I do not have this on the new sequencer but the heat works fine when turned to the on postion. Any Ideas? Could it be a problem with the thermo or a cable somewhere?

coleman electric furnace
mwright06,
is there any way that a photo of the unit be taken?
if so, you can put it on photobucket.com and we can
see what the situation is ( thanks, jay).
but on first thought, with the limited info
that was provided, thermo would be my first
suspect.
