Help please? Our heat won't work (heat pump). It was fine when we got unexpected cold weather here in NE GA, but then began making subtle noises as if it were "revving up" as it ran. After a day of this, it stopped completely. The house and unit are only 6 years old.
I'm a divorced single Mom, zero money in the bank: is my only option to call an repairman and $$$? It's 32 degrees, I'm so worred about our pipes freezing.
Thank you so much,
Barbara

What made the noise ??? The fan or like the compressor??? Id say call a tech to look at it .
For now turn the tstat over to EME or AUX heat at the tstat. That should give you heat from the electric elements for now.

Thank you, Ed; I'm sorry for the delay in responding but my son and I were out of town for the Holiday.
I set the Emergency Heat button on but it didn't come on. Any other suggestions?
Thank you again,
Barbara
