Payne Heat Pump Help!

Are Payne Heat pumps any good? I had to replace my 18 yr old Trane unit last Dec. Was replaced with a York...had nothing but problems ever since it was installed. Company FINALLY replacing unit, but wants to replace it with a Payne...I have never heard of them, so i'm a little nervous about this!

If that is what they sell . If the company has been around there for a long time and will back it go for it. Id have got another Trane and 3 bids for the first job. That way you could have got a 10 year warranty

Fan Runs Too Long

Greetings all from Dallas! On of our heat pump air handlers runs too long, and pushes cold air after the compressor shuts off. Ive never had electric heat before (hate it, but thats too bad) and when my Michigan gas furnace needed fan adjustments, it was a simple matter to adjust an little internal reo. THis ones a Janitrol stat and Goodman fans. One unit does just fine, the other chills the room after it heats it. Is there a way to adjust the fan shut down on these things? The doc the previous homeowner left is somewhat less than clear and far from specific for the DIYer. Thanks! al

Central Heating only Working on One Half of House

My Central Heat vents are only reaching the 80's temp. on one side of House, which happens to have the ducts comming out of one side of unit. The other side of the unit with ducts going to the other side of the house reaches 96 -100's temp. The warmest vent happens to be on the far end of the working side. Didn't see any leaks. A technichian took the temps. He suggested that it could be the SPIDER layout. This doesn't seem to be a problem for the other side. I gave him $$ for him to give me the BIG NEWS that it was "uneven distribution?" Of course-for him to truly check the system would be $$$. Go figure-dishonest representation over the phone... Some things never change. What should I do? And can I do it myself? I'm pretty handy.
