Goodman or Trane heat pump?

I have a dilemma. Please help. I can't decide on what to do:

Each quote is from a reputable company.

1. Goodman R/22-13 SEER Heatpump
Goodman R/22- direct drive fan coil
Goodman 10kw electric heater
Warranty= 10 year parts, 1 year labor, 10 year compressor

2. Trane 2ton 13 SEER heat pump condensing unit (XB13)
Trane 2 ton 13 SEER heat pump air handler
10 kw electric heat pack
Warranty = 5 year manufacture on parts, 5 year compressor/coil parts only, 1 year parts/labor

The Trane comes with the option to upgrade condensing unit to XR13 to include a 10 year compressor warranty instead of 5 for an extra $300.

I can also upgrade the Trane equipment to XL14i for $1130 extra which would come with a Trane 10 year parts and labor extended warranty.

WHAT TO DO? I don't really want to spend more that $5000. I won't be in this house for more than 5 years. Is it necessary to get a 10 year warranty? SHould I go with the Trane and spend an extra $300 to get a 10 year compressor warranty?

I've heard both good and bad about trane and goodman. what to do?

I personally don't care for Goodman products and believe Trane's middle to upper end heat pumps are superior.

The XB13 is low end Trane HP.

What model is Goodman dealer quoting?

What is HSPF rating (heating eff) for the 2 ton Goodman and the 2 ton Trane?

I would approach your decision this way. Are you certain you will be moving in 5 yrs or less?

If so, I probably would just go with the Goodman or at least upgrade to the XR13 for the better HP with the improved warranty-probably my first choice. While the XL14i is a great workhorse HP, I would not pay the Extra bucks since you plan to move.

Thanks so much for your insight so far..

model of goodman heat pump = GSH13024
model of goodman fan coil = ARPF18241A
model of elec heater= HKR-10A

2 ton Goodman HSPF = 7.7

As for the Trane. I couldn't find the HSPF on the estimate.

model of trane heat pump cond. unit = 2TWB3024A1000A
model of trane air handler = 2TEC3F24B1000A

SO if i did go with the Trane, to upgrade to XR13 with the 10 year compressor warranty is worth it?
