Hello. I am trying to install a Honeywell TH8320U digital thermostat in place of a Honeywell T841A. My system is a heat pump with emergeny heat. I cannot figure out the wiring and am hoping someone here can explain how to wire the new thermostat. The current wiring is as follows: W2 - white E - white jumpered from W2 B - blue G - green R - red Y - yellow x - ground? an uncovered thick copper wire The diagram for this thermostat is located at http://customer.honeywell.com/Techlit/Pdf/69-0000s/69-0452.pdf and I have the 1st model listed ending in 1308. My new thermostat is a Honeywell VisionPro TH8320. The installation instructions list the following for 2H/1C Heat Pump (with auxillary heat): L - Equipment Monitor [6,7] E - Emergency Heat Relay [8] Aux - Auxiliary heat relay (heat 2) [8] Rc - Power [1] R - [R+Rc joined by jumper] O/B - Changeover valve [5] Y - Compressor relay G - Fan Relay C - 24VAC common [3] S1 - Optional outdoor/remote sensor S2 - Optional outdoor/remote sensor Notes: [1] Power supply. Provide disconnect means and overload protection as required. [3] OPtional 24VAC common connection. [5]O/B set to control as either O or B in installer setup. [6] if L terminal is used, 24VAC common (terminal C) must be connected. [7] Heat pump reset (powered continuously when thermostat is set to Em.Heat; system monitor when set to Heat, Cool or Off). [8] Install field jumper between Aux and E terminals if there is no emergency heat. Am I in over my head? Should I call a professional? Hi, you guys might have answer this many many times, just do it one more time. We just bought a new home last week in Georgia. We have Electric heat and the air is very very dry in our home. Some one told me to use Whole house Humudifier to fix this problem. I have a 2 stories, 2600 sq home. I bought two Kenmore whole house Humudifiers, about 10 gal each. One for Up and one for down area. I loved it, the fact that we don't have dry skin and stuffy noises, BUT, BUT it is toooooo loud. If we set it up at low setting then doesn't do the job. I would like to have the bypass humudifier so I don't have to deal with filling it with water and the noise. I need to know, should I do it myself, which one to buy, how big etc. Please any help would be really appreciated. When you ans. this please think of it like you are talk to some one who doesn't know much about all this but willing to learn and really wants to do this ASAP. Thanks and you guys have a great site.
