Heat Pump and Duct Work

Any ideas on how much it will cost to install a heat pump into our home, and the required duct work. It's over 1400 sq ft main level, and 1400 unfinished basement. Currently, we have no AC and have baseboards for heating. Any similar projects that have been completed??

I was in a similar situation and had a heat pump put in last spring. My house is 1220 sq ft and the whole project cost about $9500. That includes a $1000 air-filtration system and all the duct work. As I recall, mine is a Trane 2-ton system, but I don't remember the model number off the top of my head.

New Unit

that deppends on where you live the cost of a unit and duct work in Alabama will not be the same as a unit and duct work in Texas of the same size. many factors go in to sizing a unit for your house ceiling's, windows, insulation, flooring, and so on this is called a heat load calculation the old way was to take the total sqf and devide it by 600 to get total tons of air not anymore gotta be by the book in most states now.
