Heat pump makes lights go dim

When my heat pump turns on, some of my lights in the house go dim. The house is 4 years old, the problem has existed all the time. The house has 200A service. The problem is more evident with any light that is on a dimmer (and we have several).

Any ideas about what causes this and how it can be fixed?

Thanks!

You could see about getting a hard start kit installed for the compressor. The dimming of lights on start up is pretty common and normally don't cause a problem.

Wink

If you know how!!!!!! Might check all screws on wires in panel and in the unit. See if tight. Could amp it out and see like Matt said. Put a start kit on it
