Smile Geothermal v. Heat Pump

unfortunately, our heat pump has bitten the dust and we need to replace it. just wonder what peoples' thoughts are on going geothermal vs. traditional heat pump. (gas furnace is not an option). we have a 2 story home, in Ohio, with about 2200 sq. ft.

any opinions are appreciated.

Wink

If you have the $$$$$ to do it and will stay in this home for 10 years or more Id say check it out for sure. A lot is in is the ground ok around there not a lot of rock. You have the ground room to put it in. Id say only look at the closed loop set up Or the DX GEO Thermal that is where the freon lines go into the ground. No well to well . To hard to keep clean.

We do have HP units that get a seer of 19 now
