i am addin on a room, and called the Trane dealer to ask if my unit will handle the addition.
He informed me to turn off the 'Trane Clean Effects' air filter system due to 'spark/fire' hazard.
I received nothing via mail.
Anyone else know about this?

My installing company called me last week about this problem too. It seems like Trane has identified the problem but has no solution yet. At least they said that I will recieve a certified letter about the issue (dont' know if it's from them or Trane - not here yet) and that they will contact me when there is a solution for the problem.
The airhandler one is turned off but the one I have on the furnace is acting up like nothing else and it was just serviced last week.

We received Official word from Trane that they are asking us to tell customers who we installed Clean Effects or American Standard AccuClean to turn them off for now.
Trane is in the process of getting their proposed action plan approved.
We have also received a bulletin by Carrier/Bryant that their Perfect Air Purifier is OK.

This is what we have just got .They have come up that its not the filter. Its on any that have been put like under the furnace on a upflow furnace. Its the water from the coil or lines that can drip down on the board in the filter that can make the Clean Effects screw up.
