Replace thermostat for GE Weathertron heat pump

Hi all,

I have a GE Weathertron heat pump (with A/C + backed by an oil furnace) for which I want to replace the existing thermostat. The thermostat has the following terminals:

O R T M G Y X2 B W

My problem is that I can't find any information about what the "M" terminal
is used for. I purchased a Honeywell programmable thermostat but their customer support never heard of a "M" terminal/wire.

Anyone got a idea?

You might check in the control box there That you should have for the cut out temp to go from the heat pump to the oil heat That might show you what that M is I dont have it on any papers I have
