blower doesnt kick in

i have a natural gaz furnace and there is a heat pump as an add-on. we've been warming up with the gaz. it seem to work good. flames go on, then blower kicks in, house reaches set temp, blower stops. gaz has gone quite expensive, so i just want to use the heat pump, and use the gaz when it goes down to a good -12 c.
i turned off the gaz pilot and set the tstat to 24c. i started getting heat from the pipe coming from the heat pump, but the blower never kicked in.
what would be the problem?

Will the blower come on if the thermostat is set to fan "on"?
Has anyone replaced the thermostat recently?

no, no one has replaced the tstat recently.
at the tstat the blower doesnt come on even when pressing the "fan" button.
the only way to make it start is at the furnace. there is sort of a "push-pull" knob, "push" to set it on (blower runs all the time) and "pull" to set it automatic.

Wink

You have to have a blower relay there to turn the blower on for the heat pump and the AC . find that and replace it. AS I dont know what you have there it can be a blowercontrol board or just a relay
