Hi everyone. I've discovered a possible issue with my heat pump. During heating, it seems to output basically the same temperature at the registers as it does at the returns (confimed using a digital probe thermometer). The outer unit is running at this time. This continues until the second-stage electric heat eventually starts and then it is warm (about 100°). Cooling is not an issue, as that works great. Any ideas? It was in the upper 40's/lower 50's outside and the unit , before second stage heat, was putting out about 72°, which was also the return/room temperature at the time. This temperature didn't go up until the second stage heat came on. Thanks for any suggestions! Matt

I have a 17 year Trane HP. It is a slit system. The unit is cooling the house and the inside blower cuts on and off as it should. However, the outside unit seems to run all of the time. Any suggestions?
