Question Trane XL14i

Hi
I have a Trane XL14i unit that is about 2.5 years old.
After summer, when starting to use indoor heat, I noticed
the outdoor unit sounding differently.
The fan had stopped running but the compressor was.
Turned the unit off and removed the cover for the electrical center.
Replaced the capacitor but the fan still would not run.
The green diode on the circuit board blinks three times in
a second.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

3 Flashes mean you can have a lot of Ifs.
SOV stuck in heat OD fan motor failure
Also can mean faulty defrost board. id go to cool and make sure the fan motor is ok and runs first .

2.5 years? Can't you get it repaired under warranty?

Warranty

There is only one year warranty on parts and labor, after that it is parts only for ten years.

Further diagnosis

Checked more last night. The fan will not run either in cold or hot mode. Manually activated the starter relay and only the compressor came on. Tried the same on the downstairs unit and both fan and compressor came on.
The circuit board keeps flashing three.

Check out the fan motor Does it get 220V ???? Is it good??
Just a new capacitor cant make a bad fan motor run.
