My daughter moved into her newly built house 2 weeks ago. The contractor had installed a heat pump. The outside unit sits on the southern side of the home. My 2 year old granddaughter's bedroom is on the southwest corner, near the outside unit. It is quite a bit colder in her room than the rest of the house. I noticed last night that cool air rather than warm air was coming from the register in her room. What is causing this & what can be done? They had the contractor come back out but all he told them was that heat pumps work differently than central units. He was no help at all. Could someone please give advice?

Got it 2 months ago. air handler is running but the outside unit is not. Pull off service panel, led flashes 3 times. I look up the manual and it says HPS & LPS open circuit. this unit is brand new. I see the LPS and HPS sensors inside the unit outside. any idea as to what may be wrong. what causes them to go bad? did something trip them? possibly just bad from factory?
