Hunter Thermostat 44860 - Need Help
I am replacing York Q674L thermostat with the Hunter 44860, and can't get it too work. Wires coming off the old unit are:
W - White
B - Blue
G - Green
R - Red
X - Black
O - Orange
Y - Brown
Following the Hunter instructions, this is what I did:
W2 - White
B - Blue
G - Green
RC/R - Red
O - Orange
Y - Brown
I tried the Black wire to "C" & "L", and neither worked (Heat won't come on).
The wires on the actual unit are as follows:
R - Red
Y - Brown
G - Green
W2 - White
W1 - (Jumper to W2)
O - Orange
C - Blue
Any help will be appreciated.

Try this
The wires on the actual unit are as follows:
R - Red
Y - Brown
G - Green
W2 - White
W1 - (Jumper to W2)
O - Orange
C - Blue
Any help will be appreciated.
yup hook it up just like the unit on the new t-stat and you you should be good to go.
R=Red 24 volts hot
Y=Brown compressor
G=Green blower fan
W2 W1=White aux and emerg. heat
O=Orange reversing valve
***C=Blue*** common to transformer. looks like you had this one wrong! B on your new t-stat is for energizing the reversing valve in heat instead of cool. B on the old stat was common to transformer. I think York energizes in cool, so the Orange wire does belong on the O terminal. If your units cools in the heat mode swap the orange wire to B terminal.
What was the black wire hooked to at the unit you did not list it at the unit? if it was not going to the unit where did it go?

Question: What was the black wire hooked to at the unit you did not list it at the unit? if it was not going to the unit where did it go?
Answer: The Black wire wasn't connected to anything on the unit itself.
