VisionPRO, heat pump, & winter programming

Does anyone know how the VisionPRO control HP/Aux usage during winter? Does it always attempt to use the HP down to the shutout temperature even if the HP isn't contributing anything or does the t-stat learn when to disable the heat pump? I want to use my HP down to the lowest temp possible but not past the point at which the heat pump contributes nothing.

Without an outdoor temp sensor it will not do what your asking.

Read the manual.

I have, that is why i'm asking. I'm asking the question on an algorithm level. I have an exterior temp sensor on the IAQ and there is no fossil fuel kit. I'm wondering if the t-stat can learn when (in cooling mode) stage1 is at 90% so it knows when 2-stage cooling is necessary, why cant it learn when the HP needs to be disabled? And I'm not talking about temp droop. Obviously if the house is cooling with the HP in heat mode, it is falling behind. Also, why can't a gas furnace aux run the same time as the heat pump as a booster like electric strip aux heat can?
