Increase Duct size for Trane 2.5 ton ?

I am planning on upgrading my old 2 zone 2 ton Lennox heat pump to a 2.5 ton Trane XL15i with variable speed air handler. I will be upgrading Master Slave zones to new Honeywell HZ322. The main trunk ducts currently are round 12". Do I need to increase the size?

I do not think the 1/2 ton of air requires you to up the size of the duct work. 2 zones with a 12" and i imagine it splits into 2 10" and those probably split into 2 8" each, but i think you will be fine. Dont change it unless you hear a loud noise coming from you registers like air howling out, in my opinion.

I took your advice and went with the original duct size. Everything is fine. Thanks for the response.
