Heat pump noise reduction.
Anyone know of a way to cut the noise on an exterior heat pump.
Looked at Acoustiblok panels but pricey and hard to find locally. Anyone know of alternative ?

What type of noise is the unit making? It may be something is loose and vibrating, so check for loose panels that could be tightened up. Or maybe the unit is not level and vibrating and needs some shims underneath to stabilize or level it. Or maybe the fan motor bearing is bad or needs lubed.

In this same vein I have noises being made by my 1 1/2 year old Goodman heat pump from the outsude unit.
It is a loud whirring (sp) noise that cycles on and off in a short period of time.
Is that normal or usual for heat pumps?
Thanks
