Please help!

Hi,
I am really Hopi g someone can help us with our heat pump issues. This unit is about 15 years old. For the past few yrs we have the same problem with a repair bill ranging from $300-$500. We CANNOT afford this!
We live in AZ WHERE TEMPERATURES EVERYDAY ARE WELL over 100.
For the past 3 yrs our thermostat temp during the hottest part of the day will keep rising and rising even though it is cool in the house. We are constantly having to keep turning it up and up and up sometimes to 90 because it says it's 89 and it clearly is not. We have reaced the thermostat when all of this began and it did not solve the problem. In the past 3 years we have had the blower motor replaced twice the coils cleaned and some other motor replaced as well. After the hottest part of the day has passed the thermostat wi read correctly and will work right all night long. Last year our repair bill was $500 we can't afford it this yr. we have no credit cards and no money to pay for this again.

Make sure the hole behind the thermostat is sealed. Make sure the thermostat is not located near ANY heat source including sunlight and lamps.

The thermostat is in a hallway away from any windows or sunlight coming in. The hallway is in the middle of the house (not on an outside wall) the hole is just big enough for the wires to fit through. The wall doesn't feel hot to the touch either.

If the thermostat is reading much higher temps than it actually is in the home then it is sensing the temp from somewhere such as the wall.
