removal of old electric wall heater

See picture with 2 arrows. There is a butterfly like steel plates that seems to be bolting the unit (electric heater) to the wall.

I was told that such items have 2 screws at the back holding the plates together. How do I remove the plates so that I can remove the unit?

Thanks.

Those silver wings are the connector. Yes there are two screws behind the heater on that clamp. No....that clamp/wings has nothing to do with holding the heater to the wall. Look all through the cabinet. You should find screws holding it to the wall. Once the heater is removed from the wall you can get to the wire connector.
