Heat pump cycles often
I have a Trane dual fuel system [heat pump/gas] that’s 3-4 years old. Controlled with a VisionPRO Honeywell thermostat.
While operating in the heat pump setting I notice the unit seems to cycle on/off frequently with the thermostat set at 67 deg. and the outside temperature in the high 30’s.
Average off times are around 9.7 minutes, average run times are around 9 minutes. There is no change in the reading of the thermostats automatic setting and the in house temperature. It’s almost like it's cycling on and off with less than 1 deg. fluctuations. Which isn't noticed.
There's a second problem but that's for another time..

This sounds like completely normal operation to me. You CAN go into the setup menu of the thermostat and change the "CPH" (cycles per hour) setting if you want it to cycle less often but you WILL get more of a temperature variation.
