Heat pump conversion issue!!

So my a/c tech, being the jack wagon he apparently is, wired in a new control board & unhooked the heat pump all together (wires unhooked every where). I put in a conventional tstat & the heat works but not the air. I would like to wire it back in as a heat pump but I'm not positive where it all goes. The g-g r-r y-y I get but from the tsat to? Is it the control board then the heat pump kit (which is on top of the air handler) I don't know much about hvac units but I can't imagine that is hard to do. Any assistance would be awesome as I really hate to call him back out or have another tech clean up his mess. It's a trane xe 1200 heat pump. I don't really get schematics but I can do simple wire diagrams/instructions.

We need more info on your system. Do you have aux heat? If so, what type, gas or electric? What are the make and model numbers of all your equipment?
