Replacing outdoor heat pump with higher seer Unit
I am replacing 11 year old Carrier heat pump with a Goodman. Would like to replace the 13 seer with 14 or 15 seer. Will the current Air Handler work with the higher seer unit. Do changes need to be made to the Air Handler or does it also have to be replaced? Does the size of the coil need to be changed in the Air Handler?

I would expect a shorter heat pump life with a mismatch heat pump system.
The indoor coil serves as the condenser coil in the heat mode.
You should also expect a lower efficiency in the life that you get out of it.
It's a bad gamble.
